Studio One is a massive one-acre, 4,750m2 (51,000sqft), clear span building with no internal walls or columns in the internal studio area 3785m2 (40,707 sqft). Within Studio One there are numerous offices / meeting rooms, a large conference room and a projection room. Ample workspaces exist most of which have dual internal and external access throughout the full 88 m (288 f), length of the pre-production area. A kitchen/canteen is available for the preparation of food and refreshments. There are supporting facilities such as toilets and showers.
Strategically built into Studio One are catwalks that run the full length of the building. These are accessible from stairways and provide an excellent safe elevated vantage point down onto the ground floor. There are lighting grids running along each side of the interior. There are also handy anchor points for sets and scaffolding to be secured.
The floor of Studio One can be excavated to enable subterranean features or alternatively the terrain topography can be altered to suit production requirements as in the past to create a 170,000 gallon - 750,000 litre water set.
This feature can also be utilised to create even greater height to the ceiling if required. Floor to ceiling height ranges from 7m (22ft), to 16m (52ft) and it has been excavated to 24m height (78f). Depth/height is a matter of client's needs and requirements.
Access to Studio One is by way of four large doors through each external wall allowing large vehicles containing freight, machinery and materials to be easily loaded and unloaded inside, under cover. Personnel access doors are also on all sides of the Studio.
Studio Park The area directly surrounding Studio One is known as Studio Park and is ~ 8 hectares (~20 acres). This facility includes rolling paddocks and three large flat grass areas ranging to 60 m (190 ft), in width running parallel to Studio One with a solid base building pad on the 3rd Terrace. The Studio One facility has over 5,000m2 (54,000sqft) of sealed area for parking, containers and set builds. This area includes a 15m (50ft) lidded trench for underground cables from generators to the power room, and wash down and paint waste facilities. There are quiet areas surrounded by trees for private outside meetings, picnics and staff gatherings or just for a relaxing time out away from production but still within a minutes walk.
Mobile Studio 2100 m2 (22,585sqft)
This studio has been on a world tour for the Louis Vuitton 150 Year Anniversary in Tokyo, Hong Kong and New York.
Incredibly strong, this building can have a loading of around 28 ton suspended from the roof. It is 230ft by 98ft or 70m x 30m and with a peak height of 52ft - 16m. The building itself is a steel framed stand alone structure skinned with a very heavy duty PVC skin.
Water Set Close to Studio One and the Mobile Studio is a 15m x 17m (50ft x 55ft) at the top, 6m (19ft) deep permanent water set, this concrete pool has large pad areas surrounding it for blue/green screens, containers and set placement.

To the north 50 metres away is a 40 metre by 50 metre, 5 metre deep fresh water feature with trees, tall native grass and dotted with lily pads. There is a level filming platform around the edge of the water feature.
To the northwest 50 m (160 ft) away is a 78 m x 68 m (250ft x 220ft), 5 m (16ft) deep fresh water feature with trees, tall native grass and dotted with lily pads. There is a level filming platform around the edge of the water feature. Kelly Park Backlot has also different water features such as: small creeks, dams and a lake.
Backlot Kelly Park Film Village has the largest functioning back lot in New Zealand with long distance clear sky sight lines within the back lot filming area. Kelly Park has several enclosed valleys, each with its' own individual characteristics. Kelly Park Film Village has over a hundred hectares of bush, pines, native trees and regenerating forest. The unique aspect of Kelly Park is its immediate access to the substantial Back lot of approximately 315 hectares (800 acres) for outdoor filming and set location. This provides for a close interface between the indoor and outdoor film shoots, reducing travel time and improving production efficiencies. The Back lot is covered with numerous scenic locations ideal for filming; these contain native high canopy forest, wooded glades, rolling pastoral scenes, several small lakes and fresh water streams. Easy access between the Back lot and the Film Studio Area is by way of either internal or external roads.
Animation Studio La Luna Studios is an animation company operating in Kelly Park. La Luna Studios specializes in 3D animation for advanced visualisation, graphics, animation, and VFX for feature films, TVC, TV Series, Games and architectural visualisations.
Communications Wired Country Wireless Broadband - advanced broadband technology has been installed in Kelly Park with a wide range of services over the network including internet, phone, fax, video conferencing and security monitoring. These services are supplied via wireless broadband transmission. Fibre optic cabling will be installed in the near future.
